Oh really, hmmmmm I can't see that.Could you plz direct me to where it appears to be present tense? You could very well be correct,he might be still driving for this company just don't see it on any of his posts. He may have used the words this company has but that don't mean hes still driving for themLet's ask the poster himself, upsettrucker are you still driving for this company?.
-
Move on, ? Do you have enough drivers to organize? Try contacting some union local business agents and see in you can get the union involved. If enough drivers will go union you are on your way to better pay and working conditions. If They say they will shut down , good . You win either way.
baha Thanks this. -
So I take it you're a union man?If so how have they helped you and how much are your union dues?
-
The best way I can sum that up is "A better Standard Of Living Through Collective Barganing". What I pay for union dues does not really matter. What does matter is without collective bargening power the individual employee has no say . You can see this throughout the industry. In pay, or beneifts .A 3 card monty/shell game pay scale industy? Well, you run 3000 miles this week and we,ll pay ya for 2700. This sorta practice goes back to the 20,s and 30,s. Here we are its 2013 and there still playing that game. I read enough of what goes on . I have done better in the last 3 years than the years before. I have 6 more years and I am done.
Cab Lizzard Thanks this. -
Yeah, that's the answer to life's problems, ORGANIZE! Don't like your boss? ORGANIZE! Drive an old truck? ORGANIZE! Problems with the wife? ORGANIZE! Don't like the inlaws? ORGANIZE!
Don't hold back, tell us how it really is to ORGANIZE!
I've been down that road, more than once. It's not all peaches and cream, as many would have you believe. It's not a given that you will get better pay and benefits. That's all subject to negotiation, providing it gets that far.fr8te_sh8ker and Wingnut1 Thank this. -
bankrupt Detroit that every taxpayer is paying for is a good example of unions don't you thinkWingnut1 Thanks this.

Im still trying to get over "What I pay for union dues doesn't matter."
Why would that not matter?
Would you ask a prostitute what she pays her pimp, and expect her to say"What I pay my pimp doesn't matter."
Im not giving it away,so yes it DOES matter.
What have you done for me lately?

The unions didn't put Detroit in the hole. Years of shady politicians did.
