Have an '05 Cat C13 in a 2006 Intl 9200. We've changed the entire a/c system due to multiple parts failures. Two days later, the cooling fan stays on all the time. Fan hub is 3 months old, so they changed the fan solenoid. Good for 2 hours. ANy thoughts?
I'm thinking maybe the relay behind the fan solenoid. Other than that - insane ecm?
13 speed eaton, avg 40k loads, 65mph @ 1425rpm, 6.2mpg avg with fan on constantly, running @ 180 degrees
Cooling fan running all the time

did it stop after the changed solenoid 4 a time

Had a Pro Star that did that. Pulled into rest area, turned off the motor to reset the computer, fixed. Happened very very randomly. By your description, doesn't sound like my fix will work.
-
stopped for 2 hours, been on since (10 days)
-
motors been off for long stretches (prefer to sleep in quiet), so i guess no reset - also, no fault codes

Have you checked to see if you fan is set to "on" or "auto?" Not trying to be smart, but I have bumped my fan switch with my knee while entering or exiting my truck and was not aware that I bumped it. If the switch is set to "on" it will run all the time.

one of the first things i thought of checking. my fan override lives in the top row hidden by the radio & the sirius radio

ck. 4 bad con. at plug near firewall unplug look inside. key on should nave power

If you jump 12 volts to the fan solenoid, and/or, put shop air the fan clutch, does the fan physically disengage? If you have a faulty a/c high pressure signal going to the ECM the fan will turn on seconds after start up, but there should be a brief time period after start up the fan is disengaged before this.

connections around solenoid clean and live
