On an Acert in a W900L, what is the normal life span for the motor mounts?

I have a drone issue that I am trying to get taken care of, I put mufflers back on and it didn't take care of it, so it is not an exhaust drone like I thought it was. I am now thinking maybe the rubber in the motor mounts has hardened and is letting the harmonics from the engine resonate thru the chassis. Is there a way to visually check the motor mounts to see if they are worn and need replacing?

You can usually look from the bottom and see where the rubber looks like its dropped, or needs tightened although tightening is useless the bolts run thruogh a long bushing to prevent over this. The drop is caused by top rubber being worn and in need of replacing

To me the front mounts look ok, the rear ones are questionable, not sure what they are supposed to look like. The gaps that I see on them makes me think that they need replaced, but I never paid any attention to them before, so not sure. With the rust that is coming out of them, it makes me think that there is some metal on metal contact goin on in there.

I would say the front are shot too the bolt on the left side of the pic is supposed to be straight up not at that angle. Actually they are both crooked but the passenger side is worse. Also the front cab bushings will cause a "drone" if let go long enough.

Just replaced the rears on mine while the trans was out, 475.00 from KW. That helped a lot but i still have some vibration to get rid of too so the fronts will be next.

when I had my trans put in the shop put in rear motor mounts, said they were shot. that's the first time I did not have a vibration at or around 45 m.p.h. after years. still got a bounce, but the vibe is gone.

On the front I see the crooked bolts, now that you point it out. But on the rear, what do you see that says they are bad.

check the rubber bushing at the top of you cab where the exhaust slide bolt slides through. it gets worn out and the slide bolt will rub metal to metal and make a drone sound. kw updated them with a neoprene bushing.

I just replaced those three months ago, they still look good, although the one on the drivers side is starting to squeak, a little WD-40 and it goes away for awhile.

What do you think of the motor mounts, are they toast? Could they be the source of the drone?
