There are a few tight spots (KFCI is the worst of them) but it's mostly easy places. KAMPDC is kraft in union city, and it's the worst location. They frequently run 6 hours behind, sometimes as much as 12, and often don't have an MT for you when you deliver. I was told today they put a local in there as a trailer guard (like USCMIN), so hopefully the MT situation will be cleared up.

Will kraft be good for you? That depends on you. You have to keep service, safety, and compliance in good standing. If you can do all that its not a tough fleet and it keeps you off the passes in the winter.

Y'all see the post today about me running out of hours?! I keep sittin at the house, in the shop, or sleeping in the truck and I still need 34's... Trying to get some maintenance tomorrow and hopefully can ease off the 12 hr days for a little bit.

What is the optimal tread depth to turn in your old tires for new?

The leak is probably the clamp. I replaced all the stock worm clamps on my truck engine with good heavy stainless T clamps. They're a little pricey but well worth it in the long run. It's the same style clamp that's on the CAC hoses.

in my opinion, BALD! They're not going to give you all that much on the trade and the balder the tire, the better the rolling resistance. This means better fuel economy. The money you'll save on fuel while running worn tires is more than likely more than their trade in allowance. It's not as safe going into the winter months but if you take it easy you'll be ok.

If you ever get the brokered load about of El Paso hauling chile peppers in totes, and you go to Chicago where you're 4 blocks off the sky scrapers and the guy tells you "turn down the alley, don't take out the telepohone pole please" then you'll know you've been somewhere a 53 shouldn't go. I had to help my girlfriend back down the street and she took the entire thing to get down the alley. The dock was made for a box truck, and when we finally left, it took 20 minutes of sitting in the alley for traffic to clear up enough for us to use all the lanes to pull out.

    I hated delivering to Chicago.

It can happen... That is what we have, sort of... A loop of 4970 LOADED miles/week (we are on the old fuel plan)... But it took us 2 years to get here AND asking O/O "how do we turn this truck in?". Check with the dedicated fleets... And I'm sure it will depend on where you live too. We live 20 miles from our drop/pick up location, so getting home is a 30 minute line 5 drive.

I had a 3200 mile per week load on Kraft. Solo run of course. Pickups and delivery's were MWF. So Avon NY on Monday, Independence MO on Wednesday then deadhead to Granite City for load back to Avon NY. that delivered Friday. I would pick up while there for a load that delivered in Independence on Monday.
So I was home Friday or Sunday night, depending on the week. Took off one weekend a month, so it did not screw up the route.
At that time Kraft was 40 cpm. So was a nice run. Drop and hook in Avon, live in the caves, then drop and hook at Granite City. If you don't like tight places don't go to the blast Inc, caves in Independence.

So what bonuses do I get as a company driver? I see on the central website it lists a few such as, Idle, Productivity, and safety.Any other ones I missed? Is on time bonus the same as productivity? What are the requirements for these? I know Ive only been late to a 99 once, and my DM said he put it in the computer as on time, so it wouldnt count against me. Other then that, the only times is when they scheduled it late, or it was a drop.

Also, I keep seeing everyone posting about safety meetings. Is that something that we are supposed to do? or part of the bonus? I was never informed about a safety meeting. I know I attended one back in July when I upgraded. Are they supposed to be telling me to do these? Or something I do on my own.
