No, Crest Foods/General Mills. I called this morning to see if they'd take me early and they politely said "no". So rather than hang out at the tiny TS in Dixon for well over 12 hours I stopped at the J in Davenport, IA. Now I have a 90 minutes drive in the morning vs 15, but no traffic so it's good.

Now here in Cuba. Got a pplan today on the phone, looked, and said oh hell no. Pulled over and looked and then made a quick phone call. Pplan was picking up some mustard and take it to Costco for a midnight Thursday live unload, up I Morris. It was so fun to decline, no thanks, I have something better. Now I will take a quick run up into KS and grab one for Laredo on Friday morning. And then, depending on my hours, either head to Alabama or Columbus, OH for Monday. Now a question, since I will be doing a live load in Laredo and reloading right out of there, do I still need to take my trailer through the terminal for inspection since it is not getting dropped anywhere. I think not. Now if Swift comes up with a better load that is at the yard, then I know that I do, after I get empty.

Unless the trailer is going to Mexico you DO NOT NEED TO GET IT INSPECTED!!! I've have many "so called" experts tell me otherwise but my last 2 loads to Laredo were live unloads and I DID NOT get the trailer inspected. I even dropped one of the MT trailers in the yard and it was a non-issue.

    blsqueak Thanks this.

well interview went well I think, I related with 1 of the 2 guys interviewing me since he used to be a chef so some of his questions related to the restaurant and how I handled things as a chef/manager. After all the grueling questions they then explained how the training worked and that they put a ton of money into their training starting with an 8 week training course most likely in Ventura area and will pay for my hotel, all meals plus my gas to travel home every weekend and back. I asked how long before I hear something and they said they would submit a background check today and it can take up to 4 days and if I dont hear something by then to call them. The way they talked it at least seemed promising so far but I will return to Swift tomorrow morning and run like its not going to happen, they asked how much notice I would need if they were to offer me a job, I said I would give at least 2 weeks in good faith which they said they liked that answer.

Anyone know if Swift even lets you do a 2 week notice? I heard rumors that sometimes they wont let you continue to drive since they get scared with their expensive truck and freight.
