Last week the leveling valve went out of 2006 volvo 670 I have, the airbags deflated and the whole truck started shaking. I wasn't too far from home so I decided to drive home at about 35 mph. After replacing the leveling valve the Transmission was dropping 6,7,8,9 and 10 gears, I was told to check at the fluid and indeed it was low. I filled it a bit past the full line, then everything seem to go back to normal. A couple of days ago I noticed that my transmission is popping out 4th and 9th gear when I let off the accelerator. I have no issues up or down shifting. Only when I drive at a constant speed and let off. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

A leveling valve can be off an 1/8" and cause problems. It has to be set just right by someone that knows how. I watched a few times. It seems pretty easy but you have to be exact.

With the airbags deflated the driveshaft has extra force against it. If one kept driving I suppose it could cause other drivetrain problems.

Check the ride height again and check the fluid again in case of a leak. Hopefully it's one of them.

Popping out of gear on a manual is the shift fork is bent. An automatic? :dontknow:

I do know 4th and 9th are the same gear internally.

Post down in the truck specific garage forum and maybe Pablo the mechanic can help you.

Problem is when you run with the driveline angles wrong all the vibration goes up the driveline to the weakest point.

There are thin "disks" in the tranny that are called "syncronizers" but not really.
They are bad about going out in 10 speed eaton/fullers because of the 10/9/10/9 shifting on hills and on governed trucks.

They are kinda like a spacer/bearing between the actual gears in the box, and they just wear out over time with a lot of use.

Mine went out few years back on a 1998 Fliner and got to the point where the tranny would lock up between gears on the 4/5 upshift.
Started as just jumping out of gear and deteriorated from there.

Had to drop tranny and replace these thin disks so we just rebuilt the thing.

    Anyway,
Be aware that it CAN get bad enough that it locks up and you can't get it out of gear if there is any bind on the drivetrain unless you "rock" the truck forward and backward.
The breaking point for me was when it did it in middle of an intersection and I couldn't move without a pull from a tow truck.
