Comraderie in LTL

    The UPS Brown drivers (not freight) are kind of the elitist pricks of the trucking world I've noticed. I saw one guy pull his set into a rest area along 95 in RI and start doing calisthenics like he was effin Bruce Jenner or something.

    But they're not LTL guys though.

    UPS drivers are no different than anyone else. Some are nice, some are not so nice.

    From my understanding, UPS drivers are under some of the most God forsaken pressure when it comes to on time deliveries combined with being required to always being courteous to their customers at all times. Physically, UPS drivers are humping and slinging freight weighing up to, if not exceeding, 100 pounds. That is a lot of weight.

    Also, UPS drivers are some of the best paid workers in the United States of America. This could account for the pressures that they are under from start to finish. UPS drivers are represented by the Teamsters.

    I drive a freight liner Columbia straight truck with Lehman liftgate and a Reefer.
    I always interrupt my marker lights to signal someone they are clear to take my Lane and always interrupt my marker lights to acknowledge a driver for letting me know he is good with our distance and I can take his Lane after passing. This behavior is common or west especially in Texas.
    East Coast drivers never learned this behavior I guess.
    I always wave or give a thumbs up to drivers I am around that are not on the phone texting and that are "driving ahead and using their mirrors" you can tell who they are,they can drive over an hour without having to dis engage the cruise control because they know who is behind them see the merge in front of them coming and plan their pass when they know they can out pull another unit and not take two miles doing it on a grade. I am pretty new to commercial driving but my dad did teach me common sense
    when I learned to drive a four wheeled vehicle. I see alot of drivers who have no business driving a shopping cart giving all of us a bad name.
