Ok I have read and researched some very mixed reviews on MAXXFORCE engines. On this site they are mainly negative from what I've seen. However I have read some really good reviews on them as well as watched positive reviews on YouTube.

The biggest gripe I hear is that they don't pull hills well. Which is then countered by people claiming you have to learn how to drive them because they react differently and drive differently.

So I'm looking for some pro maxxforce reviews here. People who have them and like them and why they would recommend one. I'm not looking for the negative. That's easy to find already on this forum about this engine. Then again i actually see alot of negative complaints sbout every engine on these forums so far. So anyway thanks in advance.

No matter how many(if any) positive Maxforce reviews you may find, just looking at the negatives and what International claims in chargebacks per quarter solely on those engines, ought to send anyone running from any minute consideration of buying a Maxforce. The negatives FAR outweigh ANY positive.

I drive a smaller maxxforce and i hate it. It has had a cel for about 12k miles and has 13k right now. They take it too shop and they say its fixed 2 days later codes are back up. Dpf goes from being good to stage 2 needs parked regen immediately while cruising down the high way. It is absolutely gutless.

I don't believe anything International says about any of their products and their design and build quality is pathetic.
One Thirteenletterchitspreader was enough for me.

Just what fishhook said - International themselves have discontinued production because the money they are going to spend in the units they have already sold would bankrupt them. What do you think this is going to do to the price of ANY international? You might want to avoid the brand all together. You will be better off with a cummins or a detroit. At least with a cummins you know your problems, if you have them, will be EGR valve or turbo. Which I have heard are more reliable now than the previous isx. Have also heard cummins has pretty good customer service and warranty claims. If (when) I buy a new truck it will have a cummins in it.

    Listen to these guys!!!
A Maxforce would put an owner operator out of business.
A local company has several of them and Maxforce is an embarassment. Exhaust brake holds back nothing. They pull like crap. They are in the shop half of the time, waiting 3 weeks for parts. When they are actually in the yard ready to go, no one wants to drive them. The drivers take the other brand trucks first and only when no others are left will they take the IH's.
Could keep going but hopefully you understand...:biggrin_25514:

I guess you can judge whether this is negative. I was just talking to my local Int dealer. They say the Maxx force is discontinued in the future and the Cummins motors are, as far as egr and emissions, way out in front of the rest. Cummins is decreasing the use percentage for the egr and hope to have it gone in the next few years. As far as Maxx force goes, if they are discontinuing it as a manufacturer then it prob isn't a good investment.

Actually I've been doing a lot of homework on this the current maxxforce is being discontinued. However the new N13 is replacing it. Which does away with AEGR. It's still practically the same engine but has a cummins exhaust on it. From all I have read, it looks like it might actually be even better than the cummins isx . With better fuel economy, and quieter running. It also doesn't suffer from the clogging up regen system. Overall really good reviews and reports from the N13
