Thanks, I remember once back some time ago that I pulled onto the yard with a mt, guard looked it up and made me get it inspected.
Good night from...

wolfy...if it was me and i gave a 2 weeks notice, i'd leave as much stuff at home that you have on the truck that you really don't need. just in case they have you at another terminal. not sure how swift handles the 2 weeks notice since i quit when i first started here ,back in '97
-
so just quitting they let you back that easy?
I just dont want to burn bridges is all, not going to worry for now since heck they might not even call me -
If your attitude has by non threating and when your dm ask why be polite and nice. And they shouldnt have a problem but it goes both ways see how your dm cones off to you and you will have a good idea on weather or not it's safe to go out and not be dropped in bum Egypt. CYA. Get them to print out a form of resignation (spelling?) And you will have to sign it. See if they will write the truck is returned at a terminal and you have no accidents or wrong doings on record. Get a copy so you have prove you didnt get fired. Get a copy of your inspection sheet of when you got your truck and fill one out for returning it and have them sign off on it too. So you got prove you didnt mess the truck up CYA. Oh in about a month or so after quiting check your DAC report to make sure they didnt play dirty. CYA every step

squeak ... if you're live unloading a broker load, you don't have to go anywhere near Sift, unless you want to ... I'd hold onto the mt. Last three trips to Laredo I've been live loaded.
-
I hate anything thats live, the worst so far was the coke load I had.
My last load before coming home was supposed to be a live load according to my DM but when I got there it turned into a preloaded which was nice since I was low on hours and working my recap to get home.
Sometimes a preplan that shows a drop gets my attention a little faster, I look at that then the weight and then the miles and time to do it and then evaluate all of it. -
wolfy..when i quit swift, i worked 5 months with no accidents, tix,or service failure. was in salt lake terminal when i called my dm and told him i quit and to give me a load home. he asked if i deliver it and i said as long as its a drop. i was pretty pissed at swift. but when i put my app in last nov., they said i was good for rehire. with the trucking business, i don't think the 2 week notice is that of a big deal. you'll get alot of differant opninions on this, but thats mine. but do whatever you think is right.

As far as using time off your 70, a live load will take less. You only have to be on duty for check in and hitting the dock.
On a drop ans hook you have to be on duty for check in through drop and until you've connected to the new trailer and pre tripped it.
Even on paper logs they expected to see 15 minutes on a drop. But you could get away with a flag on live. -
got the load of palletts delivered to tyon berry plant early here in springdale ar. got a multi load that was already late for p/u and tyson had no empties. called dl and said not doing it. everytime i get multi stops, they think you just drive up and leave with no time to make a delivery. dl said to put time in on mac 9 and i said you can't for multi loads and thats why i always refuse them.
