Well, I got a load this morning, going into NYC. Can they not read? DLD isn't until tomorrow AM and so I may get a reset waiting for it. I'll run it over to PA, or NJ and stop and let them find a repower. Not going over the bridge again, and I already let them know that in writing.

Timing of the meat loads...
More meat is sold on Thursday, friday, sat at the grocery stores, and eateries.
So the fresh meat needs to be at the distribution centers on Mon, Tuesday....
3 day trip from the meat patch, to the population centers, East coast, West Coast...
so meat loads come out of the plants on Friday and Saturday ...
SoCrazy_Aardvark and Emulsified Thank this. -
The reasoning behind not going that way is, not having to make the left turn off Bruckner. Years ago, there was a run under at that intersection. Not our fault. Some guy ran the opposite RED lite. But you know lawyers.
So, now we go the way we do so no left turns across 5-6 lanes. -
Gotcha... seems to me though I only remember going across three lanes. Either way, it's their truck sonI'll drive it where they say.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this.

Gongrats everyone! In the past weeks the 'Aviary' passed 10,000 posts and 1000 pages, kinda got missed because we had to split the Stevens Aviary page a while back.
You sure have lots to say, especially flue!

I was running East on I-70 in Rifle, CO yesterday and coming the opposite way going west was a Stevens Truck (not a lease guy either)....I thought you guys are not allowed west of Denver on I-70 ?
-
We do 70 now. That rule came about before Stevens had Jakes. Now if you have 18 months experience you can do 70 and we send quite a few trucks that way now.
We do 90 in the winter thru Montana too. -
As long as it Sam Adams October Fest no problem. lol

I'm just leery. I have full confidence in my ability to learn, but its also something I've barely done. I've driven trucks in Iraq.Maxxpro, made by international. Allison transmissions. Here's the current speed the recruiters are doling out.
1. $900 a week during my training phase (unlikely, but I'm happy with at least $500 lol)
2. Extra $$ for unloading trucks (doubtful, not counting on it)
3. Over $1200 a week after 8 months.
4. As of today, you're only committed for 1 colander year from completion of my CDL training. -
Finally got this Wal Mart OSD squared away and OMG got a load going from WI to Sandy Eggo! Go go go!
I love this job, like this company, enjoy this forum and dont mind tellin anyone. The view from my office window is simply breathtaking. Except when its a vulture ripping intestines from a dead dog right as I glance over while taking a bite out of a strawberry twizzler. It happened.
