May is very tolerant of other lifestyles. If chaining is your thing, who are they to judge? Occasionally, I even see piercings and tattoos on May drivers.

If hiway is open they expect you to chain and keep going.

What is May's pay scale now? Also, what are their hiring areas?
-
Well it comes down to this, like Upright said, they aren't driving the truck you are, there is no way for them to know you are using the clutch or not. Since the trucks we use are very new trucks the clutches are not very forgiving so double clutching isn't that smooth IMO. (That being said I can't speak for those of you with the new 2014 Petes because I know they have hydro clutches.

when you do your test they want you to double clutch (or the guy in denver wants you to anyway), when you are on your own it doesnt matter
northoceanbeach and Newbomb Turk Thank this. -
They told me double clutch to.
northoceanbeach Thanks this. -
That's good to know. Thanks. Also I think they REALLYwant you to disembark the truck backwards and holding on with three points of contact.
When they do the tests, is it just you and the tester or do they bring other drivers in the truck? -
Just you and the tester.

Getting out butt first is a huge safety point they will stress. I've heard of, but never actually seen, drivers being written up for not following that rule.

It's actually common sense .. Only a Moron would go down a ladder face first .. exiting a Truck is the same difference. If I was the Safety Guy, I would fire any Moron that exited a Truck Facing Forward.
