2000 volvo Detroit 60 series turns wont start

    turned it over fired up and quickly stalled out i turned it over some more and nothing just turns but wont fire need help stuck in a parking lot happened to me yesterday pulled up to a truck stop for some coffee shut er off came back in 15 min to start it fired up then quickly started to shut down i managed to gas it up and keep her going had no problems accelerating or anything after stopped at a parking lot today before my delivery appt now and its just turning but wont fire

    sounds like your sucking air in the fuel, could be a bad fuel line, or pin hole in a fuel filter, this happened to me once. check the filters and go from there

    Check the fuel filter housing, is there any fuel in the see through canister? I have the same issue when parked slightly uphill, I fill the fuel filter housing with diesel, it will start backup after a few seconds of turning her over. Could be sucking air somewhere as well.

    may be fuel filter sucks air a bit

    may be bad corroded wires/fuses in battery box under cab (below dr.side door)

    1st take RAD. cap off fill up. then restart

    Thanks fellas just got it to fire up and remembered someone telling me the Detroits have this valve problem in the fuel line on top and behind the engine in the dog house where it don't hold the fuel anymore when u shut the engine off

    You might need to look into the fuel lift pump.

    If your referring to the fuel back check in the back of the head, they do go bad, but I never heard of them causing the symptoms your describing. if it were bad it would cause a hard start after engine was off for several hours not minutes. let us know what you find.

    May be an injector or injector Oring check the oil level if it is getting higher .
