Anyone know about how much a Walmart driver makes a year? I don't think it's as mush as y'all think.. I know the Walmart in store staff are treated like crap and make no money.. And what kind of retirement do they offer? I can't find anything about the important stuff like pay and retirement on their website.. They are hiring for Otr in my area I may apply if the pay is right..

What do you make now? There are very few of us that took pay cuts to join the private fleet.

You will do that and possibly much more. Remember its not only the money, there are alot of little extras that make it a good move even for someone thats making 65-70k. With only ten years of experience dont be suprised if you dont get a call. They have dropped their standards a little but ten years is a little thin.

This is my first year here. My best year at my X job, I made 82K. I am on target to make well over that this year............ my first year............. vs 7 years at my X job. Plus, I have more time off, and am much more relaxed than I have been in well over 9 years.

We do not get a pension. After 1 year, we can opt into the company 401K where there is a company match up to a given percentage. However, I have been purchasing stock with every paycheck since my 90 days.

Whether you choose to believe me or not is your prerogative. However, my mentors ADP was $450. That puts him around $115-130K a year depending on his bonus's.

I think some really have a hard time believing how good it is to work for the Private Fleet. On my Monday (Thurs), Casa Grande was doing a BBQ. I had Brats (cooked to perfection), chicken (a little dry, but boneless chicken breasts are hard to get perfect), and corn on the cob (perfect). Sunday is the start of Associate/Driver appreciation week. Sunday is Sun-Dae day at Buckeye. All of the DC's are doing special things for the entire week. There is something bigtime good each and every day for a week.

How many of you drivers for other companies are treated this well?? Oh yeah, they just remodeled the bathrooms and showers at Buckeye also. Impressive.

It is still hard to believe that I work here.

10-yrs experience?? It depends on where he is, and how often they hire. For Buckeye................ not happening. However, for a lot of other DC's who have big time driver shortages due to retirements, he could have a shot. It just depends on how squeaky clean he is.

I hear that.. I'm in no hurry to leave.. I could make more than 70 a year here once I move up the board lol were teamsters here and have a pretty good pension in place and were not hurting.. I was just wondering cuz I saw where they were hiring in my area.. And I don't know how long they stay on the road either.. I'm home everyday..

I left a teamster grocery job for Walmart so I can tell you first hand that you would really need to weigh your options. I left 17 years of seniority, all the benes including killer insurance and six weeks of vacation. When I left I was 32 on a 150 man board but my decision was not really financially motivated.

My first full year at Walmart would have been right about 105k. Best advice is really think about the pro's and con's.

I sleep in my truck 4 nights a week (and am paid for it), and at home 3 nights a week. Depending on your proximity to the DC (I'm 120 miles away, one way), you could spend more at home. However, they pay you to sleep in your truck, as you end up being more productive that way. At my X job, I could often go home at night. I slept in my truck. By the time you get home, do the dinner and family thing and get sleep and get back to work, it is more than 10 hours. Or, you go back to work sleep deprived.

How well you do here is very determined by yourself. As long as you run uber legal, they will give you as much work, or as little work, as you want. I have the same routine all the time, but am getting much more efficient............. as such, my ADP keeps going up.

That's what in doing now is a teamster grocery job now.. Lol I'm not way up there on the board like you were.. But to be honest I had no idea they made that kind of money.. There building walmart a every 30 miles that's good job security right there.. But I see more pumpkins trucks hauling y'all's trailers around here.. Someone told me a few years ago that all you needed was like 3 years or 300,000 safe miles...guess Walmart is prob one of the hardiest companies to get on to.. Paid per mile?
