Anybody know how to disable the daytime headlights on my 4900ex?? I've been behind the dash and at the fuse box and can't find anyway to turn off the daytime headlight feature.....

Get to your Star dealer and get a copy of the service bulletin that covers this.....
I looked in the truck, but I must have it at the house...
IIRC,you have to cut a couple of wires, and put in a jumper wire...
Would be alot easier just to pull a fuse.....

    Great info....
Now I don't have to have the hard copy with me.
They did my 2011 under warranty against their will..lol

I spent like three hours one time going over every wire harness looking for one that said "daytime headlights"....lol....

Took about an hour today, start to finish.... I was very careful to disconnect the batteries, and I had to carefully undo the harnesses so I could read the wires, then I wrapped it all back up again and checked.....it worked perfectly.... no more annoying daytime lights that I can't blink on and off.

Without knowing how to do this through the manual, I don't think I could have ever figured it out.

    Thanks again!

Also works for a 2009 too, as I just found out...
May ride like crap, but at least I dont have day time headlights anymore! Left the 4 ways as they were for now though, kind of got used to them the way they are.
Many thanks, PDF has been saved to my desktop!

took my 01 to my dealer...15 minutes and 80 bucks later and it was done. since they had to bill me for an hour of shop time anyway, i had them look into why my recirc function wasnt working on my a/c. turns out someone removed the actuator instead of fixing it....adding to the list of parts REMOVED, not REPLACED on this truck :(

good guys at this dealer, really really happy with the service i get there. Midway Truck Service in Bethel PA.
