I'm very interested in working for TMC, I just wonder if there is any information I can give in advance, to prevent getting all the way out there and have the name being called after the phone rings to be mine. Being currently employed, wanting to drive because that's what I want to do, just seems risky to leave a good job and end up with no job. Some risk is tolerable but if it can be prevented, im all for that.

That said, ive got a horrible driving record as a teen but that was over 10 years ago, I don't use drugs of ANY kind.

Apply and be straight up honest about your record. I'm sure you'll be Ok, mine was pretty messed up and I got hired. As long as you can:
1)Lift a 120 lb tarp to your shoulder
2)climb on the side of a trailer
    3)FOLLOW directions

You'll be Ok. I hated the phone ringing too but remember it's a two week job interview where unless you mess up you're hired.

    Carlnix30 Thanks this.

As EMT was saying if you are truly interested in applying with TMC you have to be straight forward and honest and see what happens. Your driving record really has no bearing if they are offenses that occurred more than five years ago! EXCEPT..if you have EVER committed a felonie while operating a vehicle or DWI/DUI. Don't waste they're time or yours by omitting anything! If you are straight up and honest with EVERYTHING.. and you don't qualify, you will know before you get on the bus!

    Update!

So the Days are just blending together! For those that are interested in coming to TMC please remember you are treated like an adult. You are given assignments and that's it! Don't expect them to say.."y'all work on your assignments now" that doesn't exist. Be a man, manage your time.. Pay attention.. And get the work done! Forms test.. Paper work.. Loads of stuff! I start load securement tomorrow! Amazing I am still here! I cannot wait to actually get my hands dirty! I did get the privilege of driving a TMC pete! Just backing.. But ohhh they are such a pretty beast!!

    Update!!

Another day is gone we are now past the 5th day of orientation. Didn't really get to get my hands dirty but we did go over the TMC policies and procedures for securing loads! We are going to apply all that we have learned in the next two days. The hands on is what I am looking forward to! Michael our instructor for load securement is serious and precise! I love the way that TMC structures they're training! It's only been five days but I feel like every minute that I spend in these classes I'm learning! Way to go TMC!

Good deal Carlnix. I worked there for 2 and a half years and have no regrets. I only took a local job to be home more with my wife and baby. I am still young so I am trying to make the best of it. I would never hesitate to go right back to TMC and drive for them especially if they let me go back to specialized!!! Great place to work, awesome trucks and a very well structured company. I guess that's why so many of us former military love it there so much.

Good luck with securement training this weekend and good luck with the rest of the week! What is the first 2 numbers of your driver ID if you don't mind me asking? I was 18. Oh and for those who are wondering, TMC turnover rate IIRC is 67%. Machineman or one of the others who is already would know better then I, they talk about it on one of the videos on the QC.

thank you for the encouragement! My first two employee numbers are 19. It seems that everyone that I have spoken with that has worked for TMC for at least a year love it or loved it! Its strange.. This training doesn't seem as intense as everyone made it out to be! Don't get me wrong.. It's challenging but not so much that I had any thoughts of running away! Maybe it's the mindset.. But I love the way the training is set up.
