I'm sitting in Russelville Arkansas right now. I dead headed here from Sapulpa. I have a load I picked up from Tyson going to riverside delivers Tuesday. It's about a 1750 mile run but I'm going down the 17 to pick some stuff up so about 50 miles out of route but well worth it.

I found this when looking for JCT info.

Looks like somebody did not read their lease purchase agreement very closely and could not make the jump from company driver to business owner. He still looks at JCT as an employer instead of his customer. I think a lot of people entering into this business as lease operators make that mistake. I hear lots of people saying I drive for company X and not company X is my customer and I am a small business owner.
Thanks to all the guys posting their experience here. I saw a couple JCT trucks last Sunday at the TA in Ontario, but the one driver I saw with the truck looked very unhappy. Also his truck looked like it had not seen a washbay in quite some time. A sad portrait of your business in my eyes. I did not engage him into a conversation. -

I'm parked at the Anthony, TX Flying J with 4 minutes left on my 70. I disagree with trying to run 8 or 8.5 hours a day just so that you can do that every day. I'd rather run all of my time out and then take a break or run on the recap. If you're running the other way, what happens when you sit for 24 hours in Colton or Salinas or, heaven forbid, Broken Bow?
In the last seven days I've run 3,365 miles. The next few days I gain: 11, 10.5, 6.5, 9, and 8.3 hours. For the week (Qualcomm week begins/ends Tues afternoon) I'm sitting at 2,214 miles and 7.5 mpg. This load delivers Tuesday morning 1,118 miles from here, so I'll have AT LEAST 3,332 miles for the week and a solid mpg. Excel says that if I stay at 7.5 mpg, I'll earn $1,505 for the week. That's $.45/mile. My CPM varies from $.38/mile for a 2,000 mile week, up to $.45/mile for 3,200 miles at 7.5 mpg. My strategy is to run hard when I'm out, then take advantage of the low payments when I'm not running to enjoy home time.Last edited: Sep 14, 2013

Sharpp,
Thanks for sharing, I think between you are TT is where I will be running once i get there, I think a few days at the house will do you good, then back at it to close out the month with your goal of 13500 miles! Good Job, and then you are mentoring guys left and right! I want to run hard but not so hard I get into trouble.
Oh what are the trucks governed at?
Thanks. Be Safe. -
