I just figured I would start a thread like we have at another company I drove for in the past. It was always interesting to see what other drivers were doing and where they were running. It also helps drivers interested in possibly working for Interstate to see what we really do. I just started with IDC two weeks ago, so what I write will be from then perspective of a driver just starting with IDC. I'm running the Kansas City Regional fleet.
I left home in Denver on Thursday afternoon and delivered Friday afternoon to a Walmart Dist. center south of Kansas City. Then I picked up Saturday morning in St. Louis with a load heading to Cheyenne. I delivered that load a few hours ago here Sunday afternoon. Now I'm sitting at the Flying J in Cheyenne and told them I would be available early tomorrow morning. Ran hard for a few days, but my hours took a beating. I only have 33 hours until Friday. Gonna be a relaxing week I think.

is Interstate on paper logs or electronic? I live right off I-5 so I see them all the time and was wondering If any of the dryvan stuff is regional or is it all 48? also how many years exp. to get hired on?

Interstate is paper logs for now. They are saying that it will switch to electronic logs sometime next year. We have either truck pc's or QC MCP200 in the trucks, so it's not like the trucks aren't equipped for e-logs. But for now, it's paper logs. I couldn't tell you about dry van and the I5 corridor. I'm sure someone here could fill you in on that. I run dry in the midwest. They require one(1) year experience to be hired.

I currently run I-5 and highway 97 all the time and I love it honestly... I have been into the interstate Tacoma yard and was very impressed with the drivers lounge and tv area ... didn't see any of the showers or anything but the yard was nice and big

I'm western 11, dry van. Miles are plentiful. More I-5 than I care for, but plenty of runs to Denver, Salt Lake, etc to break it up.

I've been running team here for 11 months. So far we've been treated well and the miles have been good. We stay out 4weeks and take 4days off then back at it. Mostly we run Chicago, Dallas, lebanon tn, Atlanta and west. I80, i5, i90, i40, i94, i70 seem to be our main lanes. We also run a lot of US highways that have actually turned out to be ok. When we first started here and followed their routing we were like, really, you want us to go that way? These roads are not so bad and its a nice break from the monotony of the interstate. Plus they do shave off quite a bit of miles. US 491 in NM was shut down the other night because the road was washed away. 116 mile detour around it and we were paid for it. I have seen some beautiful country since I started running team here. Running solo before I have mostly ran east of the Mississippi River. Another thing I really like here is the fact that when I say the roads are getting bad and I'm shutting down there is no argument or punishment for it. That's super important to me cause I don't do ice and not much on snowy roads either.
Right now we are at the Lebanon terminal pulling out tonight going to Bloomington ca. 50mph transit time. When we get there we are going to the fontana terminal for a service and a restart. Two terminals in the same week they are doing driver appreciation week! This never happens to me!
