I always preferred to run hard and take a 34 when needed at someplace with truck parking and a poker table. Come to think of it I made as much money off my fellow drivers as I did driving.

i still prefer to run out and grab the 34 doing so makes me able to increase my earning potential by as much as 11 hours extra when it works out perfectly. Admittedly that does not happen every week but if I can make it happen 1 time a month I'm looking at increasing my earnings by as much as 700.00 dollars each time that happens.

I love poker on the road! I've done well at 7 Feathers and Route 66. Nothing but bad luck against bad players in Wendover for some reason.

A week ago yesterday I left Sapulpa. Was in colton on Monday. Loaded Tuesday in Ontario was in Spokane on Thursday. Reloaded same day in warden WA and stopped in Caldwell Idaho. Took a 34 hour break in Ogden yesterday. I'm in Albuquerque now and deliver in Arlington TX at 1am on Tuesday. That's around 4,600 miles in 10 days. I also saw family and friends in socal on Monday. But I sure wish I had a fast truck and a comic book. LOL,, thanks again to terry and sharp. Drive safe be safe

Today's the 15th. That means that we're at the half-way point in my quest for 13,500 miles in September. Why so many? Because August was a poor month since I took 10 days off for home time and truck maintenance. So how many miles do I have this month? The answer is: 6,981. That is 231 miles ahead of pace after a slow start. Tuesday is the one year anniversary of my rehire with JCT after taking a few months off last summer. I started out in this truck with 180,403 miles. Now I have 325,412 miles. That is 145,009 miles in a year! I would love to drop that down by about 10,000 miles in the next 12 months.

Some drivers fail at JCT. They aren't failing because there are no miles to run!

Today was a 660 mile sprint from Anthony, TX to Coachella, CA. I was thinking of stopping in Quartzite, but I had the time to make it here (by 6 minutes!) and I'm planning on stopping at Wheeler Ridge tomorrow for my DOT physical. This leaves me only 455 miles to Ripon for tomorrow, then 15 miles for my Tuesday delivery. Today was a nice day for the MPGs. I averaged 9.2 mpg to Casa Grande for my fuel stop, then 8.4 for the rest of the day. For the week I'm sitting at 2,879 miles driven at 7.8 mpg on the Qualcomm with a day and a half to go.

Good going to Gtstang for those nice miles. Soule_Man is within half a continent of getting home to get his blanky so he can start running hard too! And did I see that Joker got an Evolution too? That will be 3 for 3 for new recruits from this thread that I'm aware of.

I made good money at Wendover where I usually played no limit at the Nugget. 7 feathers was another of my favorites for me as well but sadly they closed their poker room. Won a 215 buy in tourney at the 66 that was good for 4K+. By far though, I spent the most time playing at the Alamo where the game was always soft and the drinks always free.

Moving to Reno at the end of the month so when I'm not out doing photography I'll be playing full time. :biggrin_25522:
