Running ruff

    I have a cat 6nz that seems to be running very ruff. I'm way past due on a pm will that cause the engine to run ruff??? Please give me a lil info thanks

    Most likely water in the fuel filter..don't change the fuel filter before doing a PM unless you have to.Always change your filters during a PM this way you know how many miles are on the filters not just Guess.

    Top CAT: If the fuel filters are plugging up because of more dirt in the fuel system it will cause a drop in fuel pressure. You didn't say how many miles you had on the truck but the fuel lines can swell shut from heat and cause a drop in fuel pressure. You can remove the inlet lines and run a #2 phillips down inside the line and if it is swollen the screw driver will stop from the swelling of the rubber inside.
