this is actually pretty common with the dd15. It's either the egr or oil cooler. More than likely oil cooler. Kinda doubt it's a head gasket unless you've run her real hot or the turbo screwed up and over boosted the motor "doubtful".

We'll see. The fact that it was just changed makes me worry that they didn't do it right. Also dd15'd always run hot; the fans don't come on until 220º.

With the proper coolant, 220* aint nothing for a diesel. I use Evans coolant in my diesel pickup and a 215 thermostat. Diesels love it hot .. I've come across 3 other central guys with FL that had the same issue as you, hopefully you'll get it straight and it not be to costly..I really liked the old series 60 detroits they were awesome but I think the jury is still out on the dd15.

My pre/post trips are always at least 5 minutes. Usually they're 15, or the two together add up to 30 (10 before, 20 after, etc). But since I don't have to watch my drive hours as closely as OTR drivers, I can allot the full 30 minutes if I have log time.

Kroger in Shelbyville isn't as bad as a lot of grocery warehouses. I made it out in 3 hours, and I didn't even have to start my clock until after I was unloaded since there is a Pilot less than 1/2 mile from there. I'd try to get to the Pilot early since it seemed like it was nearly full all day, maybe from Kroger.

You were able to get to the krogers from pilot without it starting your clock? Didyou drive slow, or just book it there as fast as you could? Im sitting at that pilot now, which btw is already about full at 5pm, and was wondering if I could make it to check in without it starting up my clock.

So it's not a head gasket. Its not an oil cooler. Its not even (motor) oil in the radiator.

What it was is transmission oil, and it was the radiator that needed replaced.

Best news of the day? Covered under warrantee, and it should be good to go tomorrow.
