My TCD experience with Maverick

Well, that doesn't happen too often thank goodness. When it does I just try to enjoy the time off and relax a bit. If you have any spare cash, grabbing a room at Motel 6 is a nice change. I just did that the other day when my pickup got pushed forward 24 hours. It's was only $47 and was very relaxing and pleasant.

But definitely always check your bills. And, of course, that mistake is not limited to new drivers. My load that went to Canada from Tulsa... We always cross at the I-5 crossing in Washington to Vancouver. I didn't bother looking at the bills closely and failed to notice a giant sticker that said "Driver must cross at Niagara Falls, Ontario". While this makes no sense, it took 3 hours being held at the customs compound in Vancouver to get it straightened out. Always check the bills completely

 

I agree...that makes NO sense. You would have to run WAY out of route for that, but would have made for some really good miles Where does that load go?

 

It picked up in Tulsa and had two stops - Seattle and Vancouver, BC. So yeah, crossing at Niagara Falls would've been nothing short of crazy.

If I had to do something like that, I might as well pick up a load from NYC to Washington DC and route through Los Angeles on the way lol.

 

That's funny, I deliver in Tulsa tomorrow afternoon.

Watch it when you turn into that Tyson plant... Don't drag your trailer up onto the curb if you're making a right turn into the facility. Saw a photo on Facebook just a couple days ago of a driver from another company that did that and drug some kind of rock or barrier along with him.

 

I've only been to 1 Millard in the DFW area (don't know if there's more) and it was a nightmare. It took 9 hours and 4 scales and 3 reloads to get it legal. Hope you have a much better experience!

 

I don't know, I was talking aut the Tyson in Fort Worth.

I have no idea what customers we have in Tulsa, the only place I've ever picked up here is Hilti Tools. I did their run to Seattle/Vancouver, then picked up their components in Idaho, brought them back to Tulsa today, and now I have their shipment going to Edmonton, AB.

4021 miles this week when I deliver on Friday. I have to admit that I do love it when I get on what I call "The Canada Cycle."

Of course this is one is to an be a bit tricky, seeing as how I have 36 minutes left on my 70 hours LOL.
