Load Link is by far the biggest one for Canadian loads. Cross border you can use Internet Truckstop, Get Loaded etc. You can buy every load board on the planet for the price of a link subscription but they have the lion's share of posting freight pimps. For Canada only loads anyway.
-
Exploring some options here, have you used a load board before? I'm wondering exactly how they work. Do you bid or negotiate the price? Or is there just a set price that you will be paid? How much do you lose to the broker?
-
Yeah, I've spent years on them, buying and selling and it's like a Chinese bazaar. My advice is always negotiate, some peeps will quote a firm price, it's up to you whether that works for you or not. As far as percentage to the broker, that depends on their volume, area, frequency, type of load, etc. I've seen people trade loads for a slim margin to as high as 30%. -
Why does everyone make a big deal of how much the broker gets? If you got screwed on a rate its yer own fault for accepting it. If you think the broker gets to much then its really simple...go find yer own shippers!

Absolutely correct>don't like the rate, don't haul the freight!
Hire your own sales staff to build your business. -
Cause most times the shipper sells the freight and the broker scoops it up, and takes more than what they are supposed to. So instead of taking 10% of a $5500 load they sell it for $4500 and take 10% off that, essentially screwing you out of 1,000 dollars.
We caught brokers doing it and went right to the shipper and scooped the freight from under them. They get real upset when you stop their stealing game. -
Is there a law that states the broker is supposed to take 10%? LOL...just like being a fleet owner, I will haul for maximum profit for the least amount of work...JUST AS IF I was a broker. If your dealing with brokers and dont know the proper negotiation tactics, this is the wrong industry to get involved in...

But... Toronto?

Most likely Canadian city that MIGHT be recognized outside of Canada. Or even in Canada for that matter. Lol
