Has anyone heard about casual O/O work? i was offered some work as a company driver but i have a truck and wanted to keep driving it. i just dont want to go and get my own authority. my other business permits me to have plenty of time off.

thanks Desert_Skies - i have sent my paperwork over to them. one of the recruiters said that a lot of drivers that use landstar end up getting their own authority and continue working with l/s. i dont really want the hassle of my own authority. i havent heard back from them in a few weeks and no returned emails or calls. i read on here that they are very thorough and it may take a little while. so i might just need patience.

mudflap, if you don't hear back from landstar, give mercer a call. we are like the retirement community of trucking. I basically took off the whole summer and they didn't give me any grief for it

not unreasonable really for someone full time, but if you're running part time or want to take weeks off and still gotta pay $227/week and 10% of all loads might be tough to see any profit. -
