I use to be that guy until I got a local job. OTR is much more fun IMO.

I am going from an aero Volvo to a hood thanks to a kid texting while driving on my side of the road. I am dreading the loss of maneuverability, fuel mileage (a 435 Det60 12.7 pre egr to a 535 dual turbo cat also maybe pre egr), and ride (Volvos.Ride.Nice.) BUT...deep down inside...I have the odd suspicion that it wont take long to love the new hood. I can re-learn how to back. And turn. And park.

Heck, you have to relearn how to back, turn and park just going from one truck to another. Even a different trailer changes things on ya!

Sucks about the kid texting and the old truck.

It was paid for ran and good with 1236000 on the Detroit. I am going to have a big, pretty truck and a big, not so pretty payment. The dog and I came out ok, kid who relocated my steer axle got a sprained ankle. Truck slid 100 feet on the oil pan when the steers ended up under the doors. Funny old world. And volvo makes one heck of a truck.

The Cat TT is the Acert engine and post emission they can be troublesome and get poor mpgs. Mr Haney can fix that with a ECM reburn though... Good luck with it.
If it has the factory catalyzer mufflers on it dump them for free flows...cheap mpg increase.

I've been as high as 7.34 with my 379. Actually my best was 8.79 but that was empty so it really doesn't count.

Drive a hood then and then drive one of the spaceship looking things the call trucks nowadays then get back to us on why we choose hoods

Get 6.5 outta Acert in my 379---take my 6nz back any day! Could get that and still run--LOL
And IMHO anyone who says a Volvo rides good has NEVER driven a long w/b hood w/the suspension set up properly

I am kind of on the fence about the choice between the hood and getting something like a t600 style ( best of booth worlds , comfort and mpgs )
is the 260 wb that much harder to maneuver ? I notice a lot of hood drivers trying to bump the dock, like to open the door when backing, do those stacks block the view?
