Americold Storage/ Schreiber Food. 1 Civil War RD Carthage, MO. That was where I loaded in the cave at Carthage. Follow GPS directions to the main gate, and they will tell you which cave to proceed to. Park outside the cave entrance in the parking area, and walk inside the cave to the office first. Do not drive in without first walking in. Its kinda tight in there, but take your time, and go slow. No big deal. There are several caves at this location, so I guess it just depends on who the shipper is as to what cave you go into. That's my 2 cents. I have only been there one time.

Thanks, kirk! I will transfer this to the blog. I should have known this, it was one of Husband's normal runs after home time. He either went here or to Tyson in Arkansas to pick up chicken.

Hello, room. I wanted to let you guys know that after reading your posts that I put in an application to drive with trans am today. Your posts were very helpful and I really appriecate you guys taking time out of your busy schedule to post you experiences. My only worry is that I haven't had a job in 3 years due to the fact that I was rehabing from my amputation. Will trans am look down on this? Before my amputation I had a strong work history. I also pulled my own driving record and I have no tickets, dui's, or accidents. Once again thanks for your help and hopeful I will become a mainstay to this forum as member of the trans am family.

Some of the drivers can answer you better than I can, but I wouldn't think there would be a problem, haus41. I think we have a pretty special group here too.:biggrin_25525: I'm kind of proud of these drivers ....they have taken some of the aggravations and frustrations and turned them into a way to try and help one another. Welcome and we will look forward to your contributions to our group!

Totally random, but Super Cool Warehouse in Auburndale, FL ((the overflow facility for the Main Street location)) is great about getting you loaded early. Disregard whatever TransAm sends you as far as load appointment. Give the warehouse a call to confirm they're not totally slammed, but they are quite happy to load you early if they can and they load you fast! Also, follow the GPS directions til youre almost on top of the place, to the point it is telling you to make a left in 3 tenths of a mile and then youll be at destination. And then turn left on the street right before you go over the overpass. Otherqise youll be in the middle of it and GPS will say to turn left. Not possible. Take the left and as soon as you do, there will me some small Family Dollar warehouse on the right. Go down to the stop sign and make a right. And then GPS shoukd recalculate and set you straight, but I think its the first right after that and the warehouse will be on the right, at the base of the overpass. Theres my daily contribution, lol.

On another note, I have my daily "I love my dispatcher" rave. I picked up the rest of my load in Southaven this morning and spent a good hour running my mouth with one of my buddies ftom orientation. Got back on the road and planned to shut down at the Rockwall terminal since my load isnt due til 1700 tomorrow. Got parked at the terminal and checked my messages, and my dispatcher sent me a message asking me to run my hours out tonight so I can deliver this load and get to my next shipper tomorrow. She also sent my custom short. Load should be ready for me by the time I come off a 10 Thursday morning so I can still get another 600 miles on this week. Meaning I shoukd still end this week with over 2000 miles, even with hometime! I wont have much of a paycjeck, but the one I get Friday shoukd sustain me for two weeks at least. My DM is great about getting me what I need. Shes one of those rare gems who truly cares about her drivers. Even better about this whole thing is... Im going back to Florida! Score!!!!! I am passing right by the house. I will get to see hubby and likely bump into another of my buddies from orientation. I shut down with 30 mins left on my clock. I love it that things are looking up!

Oh, and welcome to our craziness Haus!!!!

from where the gps says you have arrived
    and is a Cargill plant

    plenty of room but dark
no lines at the door to line up with

Jackson maybe? Exit 201. Has a TA, Loves, Wilco on one side. Flying J on the other. By the J there is an empty lot that is run by a BBQ trailer. Maybe that is it.

I do, thanks for asking. An old beat up KW 660 with 550,000 miles. Beat up, but has some positives over my last truck. The APU, heat, A/C controls work much better on this one. This one does not give so many annoying warning beeps. However, in my last 660 I could hold the peddle to the floor and get up to 65mph. This truck is hard governed so it will only do 62mph. This truck is serviceable, but for that reason, I don't think I can ever truly love 'er.

I took a safety class while in Olathe, main topic was DriveCam. Showed the same intro video I posted here and talked about most of the stuff we chatted about here. One thing I wanted to pass on to other drivers: Make sure you put on your seatbelt when backing under a load. When the 5th wheel strikes the kingpin, it can cause an "event" that the cam will save, it will be reviewed and if you don't have on your seatbelt, you may get a phone call due to no seatbelt. Chris in training said no one will freakout about this type of event, but can avoid all if it by clicking your seatbelt.

Blog is looking good! Two thumbs up, way up! Thanks for your hard work.
