Shut down at a rest area on US-35 just before West Va. Launched out from home with a nice 1200 mile run to NC. Only took 7 hours to get a PM done at Gary. Not bad for that place. Managed to get that safety meeting out of the way too.

And my answer as to why will be because I think it's a crock that we're penalized because we had to take a 10 hr break at a shipper and don't get the detention pay. Doesn't the company bill the shipper when we sit that long? So Roehl gets paid but can't share it with the driver for having to sit that long? It's wrong. I could have popped on duty before my 10 was up, then I would have had to sit another 10, which would have made the load late and everybody loses. Instead everybody won because I took my 10, then took off and got the load there on time. My reward? Stiffed on the detention pay.

At the mothership in Marshfield. Had noticed a slow air leak in the main supply line yesterday morning, not enough to fail the DOT requirements but enough so the low air alarm would go off in the middle of the night. So dropped off my load as a relay here. Maintenance got the leak fixed in their normal, highly-efficient fashion but then said the truck would have to go over to the dealer for a few hours to get a recall action performed on it. Oh well. Got the quarterly safety class out of the way while I was here, relaunch in the morning.

This is the very first check in for me :biggrin_25525:
Hit home today, after a brief drop with detention pay in Grand Rapids this morning. Got some shore leave saved and I'm using it.

Really?? I did it a few times. Go get live loaded at Adidas in Spartanburg, SC you will split your logs there. I was there 9 hrs and no overnight parking. What are supposed to do about that? I took off and drove all night. Took a 3 hr nap on the shoulder at rest area to finish the 10. If I did it I would always take a full 10 on my next break to get everything back to 11/14. I have used it to get to a load, go down the road a few hrs and then take a full 10 because I could. Like Meltom said it is LEGAL and with elogs the computer does all the work. If it said I could drive I would. I don't see what the problem is. Nobody ever called me but if they did I would have probably asked them what the problem is and let them know it is legal. My FM never said anything about it but I know she knew I did it.

Roehl policy is if you use the detention pay as your 10 hr break you don't get paid. Only way around that is to reject the 10 hr break by popping on duty before 10 hrs for cust check out or whatever, but then you have to sit another 10 hrs to break and the load get's ###### up.

Shut down at a little ts in Rocky Mount, MC. Picking up in the morning and running back to Illinois. My Qualcomm freaked out in the middle of the night last night making this weird thumping noise every couple hrs keeping me up all night. Sounds like the battery backup may have failed or something. Got permission to unplug it through the night so I can sleep. Prob back to Gary Friday to get it fixed.

Same here. I've done it before, never heard boo. Though when I mentioned it to fm that I might, I got the crap about it. So now, if I think I might need it, just do it. Getting really tired of the micro bs. Getting worse and worse. Just like every time I haul a refer it comes back every time with mismatch temp, which I ignore now. Had an fm covering regulat the other day. Sent 3 messages asking what temp was set at. I'm not pulling over for that stupid crap. Go to a nestle place for a refer load and see if you can even leave with wrong temp.
