Turned out to not be as bad as I thought it would be. Picked up a ;oad of Twizzlers out of Lancaster going to Edwardsville. Be there tomorrow.

They still have the big sign, "no samples". I liked that pickup, but I always got to take it to Utah.

At least in Ogden you get two pieces of candy of your choice from the drawer.

Red Vines are so much better than Twizzlers.

Just a side note if I'm on the wrong thread or whatever feel free to tell me. My question is, dress code. What does Stevens want us to wear? What do I need to pack? And do's and dont's. I'm just trying to get a warm and fuzzy of what's going on

I wore jeans and t-shirts or flannel shirts when it was cold. Boots, not tennis shoes or open toed shoes. Work gloves. Those are the basics. Don't pack too much, as there won't be a lot of room on the trainers truck once you finish school.

I have picked up there twice... once each to Ogden and Edwardsville... then last one was 4 days late when In picked it up, the reffer had been running continuous, it was shut down, low oil, no fuel... they said, well its been cool enough it didn't really need to be running anyway,.

In the Army it used to be - Join the Army, travel to distant foreign lands, meet exotic and interesting people, then kill them

Starting my 7 days home time after just over 3 months of school and training. I got assigned a T700 on the yard and took my first load from Fossil Creek Coca-Cola to Amarillo Coca Cola. Woohoo! I have ate drank and slept trucks for the past three months and no that I am home its all I can think about (what do I need to put on my truck, where will I go first, how will I handle NYC, am I going to make enough money) everything that goes through my mind is truck or stevens related. I am hoping to get out of that mind set for just a little while. It may take a few days but I am sure I will get there.

I have nothing to compare the training to but I will say I would not choose to do it again. I do feel comfortable in my skills as a driver to do the job well which is what matters.

Curb, they want long pants, work shoes, t-shirts are ok at a bare minimum while in class or orientation. When you are on the truck you can wear pretty much whatever. Your trainer may have a preference though. I have heard of some being tougher on dress code than the yard. Pack about 7 days worth of clothes. When on the road..... keep your laundry caught up early. Just do it even when you have some yet to wear. You never know when you might be stuck at a Smithfield for 3 days. Washers and dryers are typically $2.25 per machine just so you can get the sticker shock out of the way.

ON the fence about the whole Alliance thing. My wife says absolutely no, so I guess that makes up my mind as far as she is concerned but I went pre-alliance just to see and compare. For now, I just need the miles and the $ to start making up for all the bills missed during the past 3 months.

For those of you that may have been in the school, OR1 or OR2 with me. The name is Brandon. Be safe driver.
