Yeah, it's still there. I just do the old shoulder, center line and make every time. For the up comers, Marshfield has very fast left turn arrows. Matter-of-fact, I've missed my turn at McMillan because I was day dreaming and the faster than light arrow disappeared., go slow, make your turn, get your next gear, what did that sign say? Keep up shifting, cancel that signal., next gear, watch those RPM's,......oiy!!!!!!! Good Luck

Noble,
I am also starting on the 30th. Where are you coming from? I'll be driving up from Oklahoma. I have been reading these forums for a while now. I got so much useful information over the years which just solidified my decision to go with Roehl. I am counting down the days.Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Ok,I tried to post this earlier, but messed it up so I am going to try again.
Day 4
This was one of the simpler days,We did our pre-trip and got hooked up. All we did was the same route in the country that we have been doing. After lunch we did the in town lap. It has a pretty hairy corner to deal with. After that we came back and did straight line back over the length of the range (about 1/8 mile) I didn't get a chance to do the in town, but he told me I would do it first thing on day 5.
Day 5:
Started with the in town, challenging but fun, two of got a chance to do it today. Finished the day with 45 degree backing and wetook our first test (open book, have an hour to do it and it took 15 minutes)
Day 6:
First full day back in the classroom! we learned about the rules and regs about the 70 hours/14 hours/ 11 hours/ 34hour reset. Also learned about road hazards, how to handle skids, this list goes on, pretty much what we had been covering in the readings. He also had us do some paper logs so we could get an idea what it was like.
Sorry about these days being kinda short, but they didn't have much going on when it comes to variation.
Keep the questions coming!Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Oh, and Noble and Northtown, looking forward to seeing you guys (gals?) when you get up here. I'll be on my last week then.
-
SK,
Thanks for the updates. I am looking forward to the Roehl training on the 30th. See you then. You'll be a RDTC Veteran by then!
Thanks -
ok, here's the start of week 2:
Day 1:
We started the day with pre-trip then went to backing, we did the 45 degree back and then the straight-line. Each one of did each one once, then the next person went, and we cycled through twice. After that we went out on the road and drove around town for the rest of the day.
Day2:
Same as day one pretty much. Kevin is pulling himself out the equation more and more, he isstill trying to help a little, but instead of telling us whats wrong he's just telling us to look at this or that (like when we were backing he would say "look at the back of your truck" and we would ascertain what is going on and what we would need to do to fix it). If we were wrong, he would correct it, but that's it.
Couple things I forgot to mention earlier. Up to and including day one of week two we continued to have five chapters to read a night. Also, I found out this weekend that it is probably a best idea to go to the laundromat up the street, cause the hotels dryer is really weak and requires 2 cycles to get the clothes dry (at $1.50 a cycle) I'll keep you informed next week on how good the laundromat dryers are and how much they cost.Skydivedavec and Northtown Thank this. -
GoBlue posted his time at RDTC. Search for his post under GoBlue and it should come up.
Skydivedavec Thanks this.
