Most important thing was you kept your cool, didn't hit anything and survived to drive another day. KUDOS TO YOU as a newbie. You also participated in "What comes around goes around" without being a jerk. You probably made a few points with your trainer as well. The scenario you describe is quite common in the OTR reefer world. I did for over a year and don't miss it. The cursing driver obviously missed the lesson where we learn that oneself is not the center of the universe and everything does not revolve around oneself. 1st day of 1st grade stuff. Good for you Dark Squall!! A personal confrontation with a SUPER TRUCKER yields no positive results. Roll on..

Someone like that won't retire in this industry if they don't learn to control their anger. That or they will have employment issues. You've done the best you could. The mad one is always the last one out. One day he might learn that.Dark Squall, mje and technoroom Thank this.

Saw a driver just like that at a truckstop in KY. Inside he was loudly giving the waitresses a very rough time about his food not being exactly right and sent it back a couple of times. The last time he sent it back, I noticed the 2 cooks peeping out of the kitchen at him and they were trying their best to hold in the laughter when he started eating. It's anyone's guess what they did to his food. Jerks always lose in the end.
CondoCruiser and mje Thank this. -
Are you really this ''sensative''.You will not last long in trucking with this type of sweetheart sensative armor.
Trucking attracts many many nutjobs, convicts, murderers, rapists, drug addicts, alcoholics, food acholics, street people and very uneducated people on there last hope in life. You must have a solid suit of armor to deal with all the B/S in trucking and the people.
Taking a picture of a mans truck is childish in many ways, don't you think.??.Then to post it all over the Internet.??You should of manned up and took care of business yourself.I would of knocked on his door and had a man to man talk with him and his attitude. Then again, this is were i come from.I am not much into this child like picture taking and reporting people..
If i had these type of sensative feelings,i would have 1 million pictures in an album of all the crap i witness everyday and the attitudes i run into..
Trucking is not for the sensative feely feely kind of person. Why do think most of the woman in trucking look like Linebackers from the NFL..??..They are tough woman in trucking for a reason. They had to learn to be tough in a man's world and let things roll off them...fr8te_sh8ker and mje Thank this. -
It's true and if I could have played for the NFL I would not be driving a truck and would be a different kind of trainer now

I think just the opposite. Those type people you speak of above is a direct correlation with the outlaw driver. With all the new regulations those type people are the ones they try to weed out. Many of them will weed themselves out.
The only childish behavior is the one throwing the fit. It takes a real man to avoid stupidity. Because he avoided anger and lowering his standards to a moron himself doesn't make him sensitive. The sensitive ones cry about everything. I don't see him posting about every little thing crying.
I too would've done close to the same thing. I don't know about posting and picture taking because I don't let things get to me that bad but I sure would've ignored the situation. Then if you want to get in my face is when things escalate. Going to ones truck that is causing the problem is just provoking the situation further. That's how you read about two numbnut drivers getting into it and one shoots the other. Both want to play tough. I've yet to see a loudmouth that is tough. The tough ones don't run their mouths.
About the only solid defense a trucker has in today's world is a camera or to shoot video. It has saved a many.
You just made a lot of female friends on the forum!
You know how to sweet talk them. WTG Casanova!
No dinner for you!Dark Squall, Bayle and jeepnut_nh Thank this. -
You are entitled to your opinions, even though they are 100% Wrong..
Are you saying that you have stooped to a level of picking up woman friends on TTR...I hope this is not the case..
There is a ''real'' life with ''real'' woman friends outside TTR..

I originally took the picture for evidence. Sent one copy immediately via pic message to a friend, for safe keeping. Along with the DOT number. Then I kept the picture to show the guard shack folks to identify Mr. Hothead. I had conflicting feelings about posting the pic online, but went ahead on account the zoom blurs out the DOT number.
Sensitive hardly describes me. A raw exposed nerve might be more accurate. Then again, sensitive may describe me actually. I'm sensitive to flaring up my anger. My fuse is extremely short and I've been working to add a few lengths to it, with differing variations of therapy and God and Jesus. I'm not proud that for the next 6 hours I fantasized about the confrontation and what ways I could have permanently crippled him.
I worked it out in my head instead, how to handle this; instead of emotionally. I shut out my feelings, took the pic, backed up the pic, watched his location for followup actions, informed local authorities of the situation, and then went about my life.
Me and my trainer both joked about the "Super Trucker" on and off for the remainder of my training with him. He didn't reveal how he thought I handled it. But told me he had a certain piece of sports equipment on hand for just that kind of occasion.Bayle Thanks this. -
Right on. No need to escalate to physical confrontation, unless needed. I think you handled it well.Dark Squall Thanks this.
