Am I wrong for being this angry?

Nice thread....a lot of good advice. They say even a master is always learning. Thanks to all the responses it keeps us on our toes. look before you leap. It's been a while but I have been there too Joe, it is alright to call up and give them your two bits. I dread going to the drop lot, knowing we will probably get a loaded trl with a bad tire or light out...Sometimes the brakes are out of adjustment.

We have self adjusting brakes on the Tlrs...all you have to do is bake up and hard brake it. That's hard on the load inside, LOL.

I like the one about the service line.....no brakes, found a hole in the blue line....easy fix.

Running low? Air suspension problems....not so easy...really need to know what your doing or a certified tech to change the bags and or replace hoses..but of course you guys and gals already know that...

O, BTW I was hoping your experience at GTI would be hassle free.....my bad! C-ya

 

Hell going down the road with a major safety issue is good bear bait...I've gone to Home depot a bunch of times to rent ladders too change lights put caulking on holes an everytime I called in to get the okay from breakdown they were amazed a driver would do that
I did construction since I was ten yrs old when something is. Broke and you can fix it well do it its a lot faster then sittin n waitinto get into the shop just do it be done an be on your way an life is good your going to be making money sooner rather then who knows when

 

It doesnt make sense but ya gotta realise that not every driver is diligent and professional. It doesnt help if you just lose it at someone in the office but you do need to let them know whats happening. I allways found that a simple "Im not moving it so fix it or get me another trailer" worked just fine. No need to worry about the lack of consideration from the previous driver, just report it and get something happening to get yourself rolling. If you get upset at this stuff all the time then you will allways be pizzed off!

 

It never ceases to amaze me what some of the drivers out here do. Drivers dropping a trailer in poor condition is par for the course for most companies out there. The only way to curb it is for the company to start charging the previous wheel holder money for dropping it that way. I've picked up trailers that have run out of fuel, tires off of the rim, lights not working, been run into, etc...

 

You picked up trailers and ran out of fuel,don't you check the reefer tank before taking it and stopping at the next fuel station?Of course the prevous driver is just as much to blame because reefer companies have a rule to make sure tank is full before dropping it.Drivers that pick up trailers knowingly know its bad aren't any better.They're steering wheel holders only alittle better at it.By the way you have a bug on your post,lol.

 

Pretrip is just that,you pick up a trl from a drop yard,you are suppose to pretrip it as well not hook up and go because the previous driver had it and it is pretripped.Anyone who leaves a yard with a bad trailer or doesn't notice it till they get on the road and then notices things and keeps on driving till you get to your destination and then notifies your company in my book are steering wheel holders as well.

 

Wait until your truck's down for service and the temp truck has boogers on the steering wheel, cigarette burns on the upholstery and mystery stains on the mattress.
