Thanks u CPAPE, very good advice a lot of things i didnt consider. I always worked for smaller companies 40 or trucks or less. I've always wanted to do heavy haul be it day cab or sleeper truck be it home everyday or out six weeks prefer the later (not much of a home life) the shutting down over the weekends i prefer that anyways i usually run a little harder at the end of the week so i can take sunday off anyways. I would love if my company would start pulling the RGN's again we have 2 55 ton talbert low boys but no work for them so they sit in the yard waiting for a military contract or a dedicated dispatcher that may never come been hearing this since i've started a year ago. I guess im just getting tired of the general sticks and bricks flatbed loads i've been pulling on a step the last few months. the last couple of loads were decent dump trucks and a big boom lift but i can count those kinda loads on 1 hands that i've done this year. the money is decent but i guess i crave the challenge or os/od. again thank you for the advice i dont think im ready to be just another truck number like i would be at a place like keen or ats

If I remember correctly, didn't you say the same thing this time last year? I wouldn't let the childish bickering and arguing that's going on in DC at the moment get you to worked up, it was the same thing last year, and the government didn't shut down to the point of economic ruin. They will get something passed next month, and the same thing will happen again next year.

Yes, until the next time US debt is downgraded.

And Quantitative Easing is coming to an end shortly.

No offense taken here man, It's alot different than pullin' around a van though.

We pump off our own product so you still get to drag hoses, hook up wetlines, run your pump...

you never sit at docks for hours on end or deal with lumpers, though we do have appointment times...

and the biggest difference of it all...we haul 4300 gallons in a 6000 gallon smooth bore, it can give you a good thump if your not paying attention, especially in the winter time.

there are days that I really miss pulling a flatbed, in the same sense its not a bad gig pulling a tanker, and if you work for the right outfits, it can pay pretty good.

Just a question but why don't they haul that heavy syrup in a 5000 or 5500 gallon double comical? It would unload better and wouldn't thump ya near as hard.
