Open deck is not the only trucking that is suffering and not looking good for the next 6 months or so. The guys I work with might be taking an early lay off this year we are so slow right now which I was told is not the usual. The usual this time a year is 5 12 hour days and a good 5-6 hour Saturday. Not sure what is going to happen but Oh well I don't worry about it, its not hard to get another job.

That is exactly how I am too. A bunch of friends and family were always asking me how I could be gone for weeks on end, my reply was simple. I love what I do and when you love what you do, in a sense your not really working, your just enjoying life! I could go to college free and clear on my GI bill and make more money with a degree being an engineer but I talk to all my friends who are engineers and I would go postal sitting in an office all day and doing what they do.

T girl: Your profile says you're an ex-trucker and now work at a truck stop....,so naturally you spend your free time hanging with.... truckers?

yep!! I loved the road and miss it!! So when a friend called and ask if I wanted to help out in a pinch I said yes!! And the truckers love having someone that knows what they deal with. Some of the others get frustrated and I stay all calm with most of them.

yup im the same my brother has a pretty lucrative PI business down in florida and has been begging me to come down and work with him average pay roughly 80-90k a year after i get licensed but theres something about sitting in a car all day long day in day out just waiting for someone to walk around outside so u can get 3 minutes of good video with out them noticing u that just aint my cup of tea. either that or i could always go back to dirt moving what i used to do before i went nuts and started driving trucks
