What did this rookie do wrong? Scale question....

Sometimes it can take longer then that if hes waiting for his first scale ticket..That what I always hate about weighing loads,it can be so time consuming.

 

Seems like the OP should have posted what the truck was, how many axles, what tires etc etc. as there can be a lot of variables.

Ok ok, we're assuming a standard 18 wheeler with sliding 5th wheel and trailer tandems I suppose but it wasn't posted that way.
The last freighter I drove (SNI) didn't have a sliding 5th wheel and some of the trailers were 3 axle.

 

Or parked at the pumps on the fuel island while sit'n on the john and then ordering a burger while trucks behind him are waiting to fuel lol.

I have always set my brakes at scales, well normally my tractor brakes. I have never been told to do otherwise and I normally have to lean out the window or door to reach that call button and I dont want my truck moving on me.

 

Only thing I can see that he did wrong was give you his weight certs. I'm sure he doesn't mind you putting him on blast by posting his company and tractor number.

 

It must suck to have to slide axles to get weights legal. I take my fixed axles any day of the week. Granted I don't get the pleasure of making a load legal if its over...but I don't weigh loaded either

As for what was done wrong I don't see much done wrong here. 5th wheel position is negladgeable due to being under gross, yes the load was legal where it was but he evened out the weight between the axles that isn't the WRONG thing to do that's the RIGHT thing to do, time hell maybe he decided to take a leak while he was in the trufkstop getting his scale ticket who cares. I don't see where the issues are here that everybody keeps pointing out

 

Newbie question: It was okay they changed drivers, right? I'm assuming the first driver ran out of hours. Otherwise, this is an learning experience for me.

Where are you getting that from. There is no mention of changing drivers. The drivers name is nowhere on the receipt. The only name on thres is the weigher , which would the person working the scale at the truck stop.

And to the OP, are you gonna give us your answer????????????
