There's plenty of ways around the toll roads, whether they are worth it or actually cheaper is another story. For example, Orlando to Wildwood, the turnpike is a no brainer. Orlando to Miami, you get off at Yeehaw Jct and run over to Vero and get on 95. Coming from say ATL to Miami, you take I10 to Jax and hit 95 there. 30 extra miles will save you around $30 if you get off at Yehaw, probably $60 if you were going to ride the turnpike down. Getting around Orlando, 408 and 528 are cheap and way less money that the fuel you'll burn on 50. 417 is more expensive, but if traffic is bad through town on I4, it can be a good detour. I hate the toll road around Lakeland though, especially the east side $$$.

I have a james hardie on me right now. Its 2.30 with my dead head. They must be desperate. I hate this load tho. My big tarp is being repaired and I had to stop and buy three brown/silver walmart tarps for this load. I have about 20 straps, rope, duct tape and two spare tires on those crappy tarps trying to keep them down. Also a total of 5 tarps! I am to the point I don't care about those friggin tarps anymore.

    $2/mi is the new $1/mi

I try to shoot for $2 after fuel surcharge is deducted so $2.40-2.60 minimum and only up from there.

Sometimes I cheap out if I feel like going home from a bad area for $2 on a light, no-tarp deal but less than that it's air freight time.
