i ran a hot wire to the air valve and the fan turned on then while i was in the truck i bumped the fog light switch and the fan came on so i figured out the guy that owned the truck before wired the fan switch to the fog light switch instead of the fan switch so thanks for the help every one. now i have just got to figuer out why there is a pipe that goes to the top of the engine all the way down to the ground and blows steam out lol
cooling fan wont spin

that pipe if coming from the valve cover, is your blow by tube. it is normal to see some blow by. for Detroits seeing it is mandatory
cetanediesel and jmarsh91 Thank this. -
how much is to much
-
When it looks like a James Bond smoke screen
-
lol it looks like the exhaust of a car on a cold morning
-
Really though, if it puts oil on everything behind it, its time for a rebuild.
Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
just make sure there is nothing blocking the blow by route. no kinks or anything.
-
The fan on a detroit is controlled by the ground connection. not the hot. I was surprised when I found that out
-
it dosent spit any oil it just blows steam
-
that might be the problem on why the fan dosent come on auto cuz its wired up so that the hot turns it on and off
