Proper installation is also important. Poorly installed speakers won't have as much bass. Keep the polarity correct for maximum ear enjoyment ;)

Realize this post is a little old, none the less ... Kustom Truck recently partnered up with (2) pro audio mfg., DD Audio and MMats Pro Audio to design a good, better, best type approach for replacing the factory sound system in heavy duty trucks. Prices range from about $400 - $3500 depending on what your trying to achieve.

Just finished an installation in a Pete 389 Glider, replaced the factory deck with a JVC HD Deck, replaced the factory amplifier as well as replaced the factory speakers and sub under the bunk (sleeper cab), customer was blown away with the sound quality!
