I am looking to join my husband on the road in mid summer once the youngest of our boys graduates high school. I enjoy having my wheels turning but I have always been busy with my retail management/sales career. Does anyone have some advice for a "work from anywhere" career that can be done from the truck? No, I am not a "driver" just because. I will have phone and wireless capabilities and a great laptop. After eighteen years of being the manager or supervisor over multiple stores......I would like to be able to make some extra money while being with my husband. So tell me, is it possible? Or should I just sit back and support my man?

I know that is one dream of mine. One of my side jobs is correcting papers for ETS online. I think that would be easy to do while riding in the truck, but then again, I've never been out there so I don't know how feasible that is.

Who is ETS and how do you get to know/research them? There are a lot of "work at home" businesses but most don't seem to be legitimate. I have spent so many years inside four walls managing and recruiting that I just need something to keep me busy. I appreciate any information.

    Thanks again

I do transcription from home and could do it on the road but not nearly as well as at home. If we'd stayed on the road, though, I'd have gotten back into it there but would have had to work mostly when the truck was stopped because they're just so noisy. I can work from anywhere long as I have an internet connection at least once a day.

I am lucky and I am going to be able to keep my job while out on the road with my man. I was going to drive but after almost a week in school realized it wasn't for me, at least not yet.

I work as an on-call staffing coordinator for an agency that staffs nurses. I can do my job from anywhere as long as I have a laptop and cell phone. My company has provided me with the laptop and a Verizon aircard and cell phone so I have no worries.

You might check into something like that. I know that most all of the medical staffing companies use 24/7 answering services.
