you dont need OTR experience... dont listen to that. I never spent a day OTR and landed a local gig right away

Well, it's official, I start training at Coke next week and the guys at YRC want to keep me as a part-timer. Make some runs on weekends...pretty much when I want. Mon-Fri at Coke. It's the same local #135 as YRC so the union side is covered. Looking forward to a more normal life with a regular schedule, the "on-call" stuff at YRC has made me a slave to my phone and leaves me NO family time, so I think this will work out better for my girls while I don't burn any bridges and keep my foot in the door at YRC (you never know). Just wanted to give you guys an update...hope all goes well for you at your new job ACH !

My last few weeks I was on a time start turn bid. that was nice. UPSF is the same 707 local so im lucky there. My leave of absence was shot down by the regional line-haul manager. He said because we are short drivers he wont grant any leave of absences. Doesnt really make sense to me as you would want someone to have incentive to comeback... So I guess theres no point for me to move back 120 miles to 123 again... Only good thing is both my shop steward and linehaul manager told me that im more then welcome to come back if I ever want too and that they wouldnt even think twice about rehiring, so its good to have a good standing leave.

Lil delay on UPSF though... they messed up my app and had to correct some things and go for another drug test, was nice to have some days off but its hurting my wallet

I should know this week what bid I'll be on for the next 6 months. I made a change in partners. It was time for it. A god friend of mine starts tonight at 309. He's goin thru the 140 hour training program. Good guy and I think he will do well here.

Good to hear ACH! They actually switched the position on me the last time I went in to sign my final paperwork. I was pissed! I wish it had worked out for me. This was right after UPS bought out Overnight and it was an Overnight terminal I went to. So maybe they just didn't have it together yet. Hope your first night is a success!

Bidding is over at 309. I switched partners and bids. I now run a bid that I get 3 days off one week and 2 days off the next week. Lookin forward to having a little more time off the next 6 months. I was really getting burned running nonstop.
