Anyone know of any companies that will hire someone with limited experience from outside of ND that wouldnt mind living in the camps that they have out there...I been seeing a lot of buzz about the ND oilfields and am interested in going, if I can find a place that would hire someone with only 4 months experience OTR and needs to be housed.
Hmmm is this too much to ask? -
well said.... be realistic people, if your are a sick bay commando and are likely to use up all ur sick days within few weeks. North Dakota is not for you. I started job with 16 newbies in october (north east Utah). we are down to 4. the cold is brutal and u work in it wether is 20deg or -20deg. sad thing is most those guys put out money of their own pocket to come here and be here long enough to burn it all and still have to burn their own money going back home.... so in all reality, they are worse than they started. Nothing is free in this world.

How does one ask for problems? Please give me an example. Sorry if that's a dumb question but I want to make sure I get what you are saying. Thanks! -
Good question.
By making every problem personal.
If you are told to do something, and then feel because someone else doesn't have to do it, then OK you may have an issue with the people above you but if you look at everything in a defensive mindset with the intent to find something you need to complain about or want to feel that it is unfair, then the problem is with you.
When I had my business, I had a bunch of employees and a few of them acted as every little rule and policy or decision was made to get them, it was tiring and one reason why I got rid of the business. -
Daniel, Hi
Can you please give me some leads (company names in TX) that will consider hiring a newbie CDL holder? I just graduated a 240 hour CDL Program at a local Technical College with Hazmat, Tankers, Doubles & Triples, TWIC, and I have a passport. What I don't have is driving experience other than school. Any suggestions or leads? I live in Louisiana and can easily relocate to TX, same heat, same bugs.

Some companies are offering free housing...but would you rather take $22hr and be around 100+ things to do with nice weather.... or $26hr in some tiny isolated little town totally at -25 below??
No brainer... -
Wish I could see how that was phrased.
