Permit department didn't know anything about it. I was lucky to get my Maryland permit this afternoon. Scale was closed anyway :)

Not even the escort guys knew anything about it. I'll check it out closer next time.

Yes, you will have to pay the $200 for the escort. Anything OVER 10'5" wide needs the escort and u also have to call them 24hrs in advance and setup and appointment to cross. If you don't call, they will make you sit there for 24 hours. When I came across it yesterday, there were 2 trucks sitting in the rest area and the officer said they showed up and had not called in, so they get to wait 24hrs till they can cross.

    Read your permits !!!!

and I think u are crossing at the MD Chesapeake Bridge an not the Chesapeake Bay Bridge down south in VA??

I made it to the first rest area in Ohio on US35. Got loaded this morning and spent an hour tarping 3 crates. They have me a hassle because the tarp is too long for them (2 on top deck and one on the bottom at the back) so I had to figure out how to make it tight and keep the tarps from blowing out and flapping in the wind. What a PITA !!! I think I'll be doing some NO TARP loads for a while

Yep I'm one if those guys although I don't like to ride in Jackson because there is way too many people there and it's really hard to find snow that isn't all tracked up.
