But they don't know anything.
first they were trying to route me from Morgantown through Wheeling, but there was construction in PA. Then I double checked the miles which matched the mileage taking the load to Lexington then up I75, but nobody knew it. I finally told them where I wanted to go through Lexington.
After everything was done, I knew nobody knew anything about oversize loads. They only know how to get permitsThey didn't know anything about the bay bridge at all.
Apparently, after I get loaded, it's all on inexperienced me.
My escort guys do a bunch of OD loads with Mercer and they say Mercer's left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing.
Where is everyone #2!!

I have never had a problem getting permits with mercer, once I am dispatched on the load, I call the permit dept and give them the route I wish to run. that's the way its done. they order the permits, but you have to touch base with the permits dept. to let them know when to start the permits and what route you would like.
anyway, that's the way I do it, I leave nothing to chance, you got to remember, be proactive.SHC, Blind Driver and macavoy Thank this. -
Sioux Falls, SD.... I was born here but I don't thing anything goods happened to me here since. steering gearbox sprung a leak this morning. it's about right on the verge of what I'm willing to tackle on the road to repair myself. I could get a cab, get tools, yada, yada, but a bolt could break trying to remove, etc... think I'm going to have Inland fix tomorrow morning, looking like $1200 or so parts and labor. owning trucks sure is fun, it must be, cuz if I was doing it for money I'd have to be some sort of idiot or sumthin'
fortycalglock and Logan76 Thank this. -
I'm mounting some tires and putting them on my trailer. Going to go grab my load for TX shortly. I'll probably head out Sunday morning. Receiver offered some extra cash if I have it there by noon Monday.

#### and I thought the rig site we was at was muddy.
Sad thing is I washed trk. and trl. Sat. then play in the mud Thurs.
I see you had to chain up just to get around.. That bites.
The bed and boom trk. was chaining up where we were and the one trk. slung one set of double railers.
Found out our swampers were from the office and a bit rusty being demoted to swampers. Kinda good for a chuckle. but slowed things down. -
Home in Appleton. Off till Monday then I have to pickup a legal load on Tuesday for Philly. As near as I can figure it is about $5.00 a mile outbound.

Surprise surprise, Omaha!
Load in the AM hopefully, then on to Hankinson,ND for Monday delivery.
Thanks to a "special" Dawes driver, we can no longer go up 29 into Sioux City. He apparently obliterated every cone up there, so now we are stuck with an idiotic detour.
