Just take a little time to listen to what's NOT being said when the agent responds. Read between the lines, if you will.
Another good laugh from TQL

Next time I get one of their "dimmer bulbs" on the line, I'll figure out a way to make them tell me.
windsmith Thanks this. -
windsmith, congratulations on only quoting part of my statement.
My point was, he was getting crap rates from everyone he called. Not just TQL. So, why single them out?
And as for rates paying more because you're a good carrier for them... you still won't get $3/mi for general freight out of the northeast no matter how stellar your record. But, if you get $3/mi going up, then you're doing something wrong. It's all subject to the market what good and bad freight is. The problem is drivers/OOs that think they should command the same rate no matter where the load goes, when it picks or delivers, etc. Just picking Monday morning is going to drive down the price. Delivering Friday night? Price goes up. You have to be smart enough to understand that this is a negotiation. Not a 'right' with some mystical 'fair rate' that applied to every load. And this isn't even discussing specialty, expedite, etc. -
You can add to that "end of the month" and "end of the quarter".

Man, you got that right about Landstar ######!
