I don't recommend getting physically fit and healthy; you will stand out like a sore thumb in the TV lounge at the truckstops. Assimilate into this new environment!

Like post#3 says it could be the age.Try Werner think they require 21 to be the magic age. Also concerning your work history,do not leave any gaps. You didn't work and was going to school, make sure to put that on your application along with dates and yr.

OK, your profile says you are a student, so I thought you meant you were in a CDL school. If you are in college, get a degree in SOMETHING before you jump into trucking. It can't hurt anything, and it just might help you a great deal. If you are thinking of going O/O route, you need to get some business classes under your belt anyway.

You ask if you have any other options - man at your age, you have all the options in the world!

Get your CDL on your own through a tech school or a comparable/reputable driving school. You will be better off and can call more of the shots as to which direction you want to go.

If you where in school, I doubt that's the issue, carriers that hire rook drivers will except schooling as a replacement for work history, but you will need to prove your claim to the carrier you where actually in school
