Since when is a truck with 600K miles "worn out?" LOL
Yeah, you'll be the first person I'll tell...

Hubs called in yesterday morning to let the BL know he was available for a load, but that the truck was parked an hour away. (She'd been in to see the boys at Kenworth.) BL called back about an hour later with 3 loads. All from McPherson, 1 headed to Houston, 1 headed to somewhere else, both due Tuesday. 1 headed for GA due Monday. He chose the GA load. Got another night at home, and was on his merry way today. Our profit margin is also 3 times her quoted profit.
Like AZ has stated in a different thread, since when is a 600k mile truck worn out? At least we know the quirks and foibles of the equipment, and know exactly what's been done and what needs done. Still have maintenance to do? Yup. Does it matter WHAT truck you own? Nope. They all need maintenance. But the truck you can buy for $15k somewhere will need that maintenance done much sooner rather than later....azcardnlz and Kevin horn Thank this. -
I responded to this thread to make this point. Yeah, ACT is different today than it was three years ago. Things change. The economy changes. Rules and enforcement change. The industry changes. The EPA mandates changes. People change. The most successful people in life are the ones that adapt quickly to change. When the NFL implemented the salary cap, the team that adapted the quickest to it was the Dallas Cowboys. That's exactly why they dominated the NFL in the 1990's (and beat my Cardinals 14 straight games). In this industry today, there are very few trucking companies that existed prior to deregulation. Most of the old companies couldn't or wouldn't adapt to the massive changes and are gone now.
Two big changes I've seen at ACT are the implementation of e-logs and longer leases on newer, more expensive trucks. Adapt or move on. As for me, I will persist until I succeed. -
Well said!! What's the longest lease term you've heard of over there?

Mine is 63mo for 2012 with 80,000 miles. Have been at Act 1yr and 4 months have had no problems, have a great business leader. Their lease purchase plan works for me.

Do they still have the 36 month lease? What kind of truck will they offer for 36 month term?

azcardnlz Thanks this.
