where can i buy cb radios from?

Apply for a dealers license, then order about 100 of them and they will sell you all the CBs you want.

 

There is a member here....rollingradios.....he can get you set up with that radio and a good tune up. He is a shop/dealer but you aren't going to be able to buy any radio factory direct unless you become a dealer/distributer like Blind Driver said.

 

Agreed. Manufacturers typically do not just sell straight to the customer.....they sell to an authorized dealer who sells to customer. Most anything is that way.

If you don't want to get charged for a peak n tune, I suggest finding a dealer who will offer to sell you one w/o the p&t. Most of them i believe will. Then you can go to cbtricks.com and see if there's a way to do the work yourself. That is if you know what you're doing. Or better yet run the thing as is.

I personally had a radio come new from GI Joe's w/o being open, it was a Magnum radio that didn't really need the p&t....but I did do the freq. mod that allows it to work on 11 meters (CB) by doing a quick solder job on the jumper board.

Got mine online nib for 250. Then took it to steelrods in Remington IN the conversion and peak and tune was 40. Everybody says that the audio is very clear. I run it with a Monkey Made MM9.

 

i am low on cash flow so trying to fix a 29 up.. but i had a few bucks connex or stryker radios i have heard really rock....

Had one layin' around. My girl just bought 2014 Jeep. She tyhoiught a CB would be fun for off road and trips.
I added:

A Mosfet iupgrade. ($10)
a Preamp ($6)
"A" channel switch ($6)
Swing Modulator ($20)
Receive Upgrade (Schottky & 2SC2999, $3.50)
Custom laminated faceplate ($22)
Channel Kit, 40 up and 40 down ($29)

Granted I had the benefit of having worked as a trained electronics tech, so I did the work myself.... But for $96.50 (if my math is right, LOL!) I have a radio that will rock like the exports! In a lot of cases better! The receive upgrade is really nice. The custom faceplate... an obvious unnecessary option... looks really nice. You have a great starting point for a kicka$$ rig. If you don't want or need the faceplate and/or extra channels, You can habve a super talker for very little.

Oh yeah, she's not a CB'er but loves it!

 

Well my math really wasn't wrong.... quoted swing mod as $20 should be $2. Most of the so called "kits" are a couple of dollars worth of parts. If you are a novice the kits might be beneficial as they often come with pictures and detailed instructions. I just buy the parts and save the money...
