where does it say that??? one year before you go west. i met a guy who started after me in evo III and hes already running to utah and back isnt that "west" and in the "mountains"?????? it just depends on if they like you or not and if you whine alot. i dont whine i just do what im told but it seems like the whiners get what they want!! the squeeky wheel gets the grease. i was in gary and heard this guy "whining" about his run to the DSR. im sure he got what he wanted. its always the young bucks who Whine all the time.

I am really trying hard to figure out some opf these bellyachers.Having done about 15 years over the road,I never got to pick my runs. I very seldom tuirned diown a load as a company driver or as an O/O.Just pretty much took the runs as they were assigned to me.What I found was that if you live in the eastern part of the country, you are gonna spend most of your time east of the Mississippi.I had my share of runs to the west coast, and believe me it aint all that great. My best runs were from the northeast to TX.Never liked going to FL. because that was always a deadend.Unload in FL,and God only knows when you will get a load coming back out.Worst trip of my career was from Warren,OH to Sparks,NV.Then getting stuck on the west coast for 3 weeks.Nothing against the west coast, but it aint home.I saw a way too much of,CA,OR,and WA,with ID mixed in there. To me the whole point of truckin is to make a decent paycheck, and I could always make that in the eastern US.

No gunrunner, I am not still driving for them, but it was me not them. Roehl's RDTC was a great place to start, and I believe you would be hard pressed to find a better "starter" company. Some stay on, some leave after a year. I guess it depends on your dispatcher.

Is he by chance in the honors program? I know a guy who has had loads out west (Cali), but they're not supposed to send newbies out there for six months I'm told. They save a lot of money by maxing out the honor drivers' hours with driving instead of sitting, tarping, etc., which is probably the only reason the person I know had these trips out west.

He is not. No one gets into truck driving for the privilege of bunking with a cell mate or two for 22 days. it affected Dennis more than he thought it would.

when I went to evo III they asked me what I thought of my trainers, I told them
"I don't like anyone after being with them for 24 hours. let alone 23 days. So, we can either to some heavy multiplication to figure out how much they irritate me, or we can just say "I learned a lot." and move on."

    Response: "Well then, Moving on..."

Roehl is the first place I applied (online). I'm very interested in that company, thanks to research and the info on them here -- it helps. Anyone have any advice on how to speed up the hiring process? I am in central MN. Is there a specific recruiter I should call? Any info is appreciated.

    :biggrin_2554: Thanks in advance...
