That's exactly right. My truck still had the company truck number when I first showed up at KCMO. It smelled like an ashtray too. But they got it cleaned up and the new truck number put on by Friday.

September was a slow month for me. I took off 10 days, which is rare for me. I just did my monthly bookkeeping and my profit per actual mile driven is down to 40 cents for the year. That's mainly due to excess out of route unpaid miles I drove this month. I expect the fourth quarter to boost those numbers back in the proper direction. On a positive note, my 30 day fuel mile average is up by half a mile per gallon. 7.85 MPG for the month. My dash readout says 8.1 for the month on just over 9000 miles. My goal is for my 90 day average to top 7.85, so I'm headed in the right direction.

I'm curious how you log your personal driving in the truck as a L/O or O/O. My company gives me 45 minutes a day of Off-duty Driving for that purpose and the QC takes care of the computations.

ACT gives 1 hour OffDD/day. If you need more time to get where you are going (like home), for the most part, it is On Duty. Some time ago, ACT decided to put QC's in all their trucks. Near as I can tell, they pick up not only the installation, but also the monthly fees.DenaliDad Thanks this.

U get 1 hr of personal convayence time aday. If u go over that it will automatically put u on driving time. If its a lagit personal time u can call safety and they will fix it for u. I have went over several times driving around kc and they always fixed it.

This is the truth. (But then, being sensible about your request is probably prudent. Needing another 30 minutes to get home, ok. Asking for 4 hours, probably not.) We try to get loads for home that require less than an hour of drive time from the final drop. It isn't always possible.

I keep my old beat up pick up at the shop. Any time I have running around to do in KCMO, I drive that.
-
That is an option. Since we only have 1 car (and that's the way it has been for the last 15 years, folks), we don't have an extra for him up at the yard. He doesn't tend to gallivant around KCMO, but we did go to Ameristar back in June. Came out a couple of bucks ahead on the slots, too.

My truck is a 5 speed and no one at the house knows how to drive it, so it would just be in the way there. Plus we've moved and homeowners association rules say we can't park in the street, so I would have to find a place for it anyway. I drive to Liberty to shop, to Waffle House sometimes, but the best is if I need to shower at Flying J, I drive the pick up over. There's car parking night and day.

How many terminals do y'all have and where are they? Do they not have showers at the terminals?
