I am up for a new exhaust manifold and have priced a OEM manifold thru CAT and I can get a Bullydog for the same money. Any one have one? Pro's and Con's if any? Is there a better manifold?
regards
Nick

which C-15 6-NZ, MBN, or Acert?

Hi should of been more specific 6NZ.

Much better than OEM. The last one we fitted was to a 904. Back then the manifolds sold here were only available in mid mount configuration. Obviously this meant changing intake piping, tail pipe, oil supply and drain etc etc. Mid mount manifolds do flow better than the low mounts which 95% of trucks here have.
I see a low mount manifold is now available and would be a straight fit. Use OEM fasteners and gasket as the ARP kits which Bullydog use are expensive and no better in my opinion.EverLuc Thanks this. -
Since your gonna have the manifold off now is the time to either wrap it with heat tape or a good heat blanket sold Bullydog may provide one if not pittsburg power has a good one and plain header tape from auto parts store better than nothing.

Thanks for the reply's. the bullydog manifold is ceramic coated so it wouldn't need heat wrap, would it? Did you notice any power/fuel economy gains Gold diesel?
-
No real feedback to share....by that I mean engines we fitted them too were not running standard chargers, injectors etc. Assuming yours is still stock, I'd be surprised if you would see the gains in which they claim, especially pulling 60k+ doubles...maybe that's just the sceptic in me.
Their design, along with larger internal diameter increase and porting should decrease turbulence inturn increasing air flow helping to some extent with lag and egt's. By dropping the turbo drive pressure perhaps some economy gains could be achieved.
At the end of the day, if you are chasing an alternative to the OEM manifold, Bullydog, PDI and full tilt manifolds, for a little bit more outlay will outlast OEM. Fabricated from a better material casting, along with beefed up center divide and slip joints. For these reasons I would chose one. Not solely thinking your going to be rewarded with more hp and economy. -
have run BD for almost 2 years now. works great. as fare as fuel ect. can't say as changed turbo and charge air cooler at same time. arp studs and nuts that come with it as they are stronger and work better. good luck

I agree with Gold Diesel, I'd never change a manifold for the sole purpose of better mileage for the money spent you won't be further ahead.

I have been told that the BD is American made and better made. I did not notice it until after I posted. American won't count for as much in the land of OZ.
