I'm going to cut the OP some slack here. It's obvious that that post was written while he or she was upset and that's why it runs on and on with little to no direction. I disagree with the general statement though. Sure, most OTR megas will replace you without a second thought, but many local companies WANT to keep you on board if you do a good job, especially the smaller businesses with just a few drivers and a couple of trucks. Megas run through drivers on a daily basis, it's why they hire new people every single week all across the country. You're expected NOT to last, and because of that, you're easily replaceable. But a small business owner knows his or her own drivers like family. They depend upon one single individual to keep their entire business moving in a fluid motion. If you prove yourself to be hard working and trust worthy, you are a MAJOR asset to a small business and thus aren't likely to be "randomly replaced" for no apparent reason. Megas on the other hand...well, of course they'd like it if you stuck around. But with what they pay and the sacrifices they expect their OTR drivers to make, it's highly unlikely you will.

Much of it has to do with attitude too. If you go in to anything assuming that you hold little to no worth or value, that's eventually going to show through in the quality of work that you produce. Megas, locals, ltls, couriers...its all the same. If you do a crappy job and have a piss poor attitude, eventually you'll be replaced...

Some smartbleep, bleep and bleep here should start a thread on the english language. I see job openings for english teachers everywhere. What are you people doing wasting your education driving a truck?

I agree with the greenpea. Don't forget to plant ahead guys. Always plant ahead. Use plant B, C, or D.

Without proper use of the first, there is little chance of the latter.

No, not that rough. I actually felt sorry for them. Most trucker don't make much money(minium wage or less if you break down the amount of hrs they put in , have to be away from family and or love one. Got mentally beat up day in and day out, Have to let it out somewhere some how. Rough world for trucker.
