Your DL can stay in Ontario as long as you are still a permanent resident of Ontario. You just have to give your employer a drivers abstract every so often as alberta insurance companies can not do it themselves due to some privacy laws in Ontario. OHIP is also still valid as long as your address remains in Ontario. It's no different than those from BC who work in Alberta. You will have to notify your car insurance company about being in Alberta if you bring your vehicle out here. They will tell you what else you need to do.

Hey folks.. So I am on with this new union job up in Surmont 2 100km south of ft mac - Its been decent so far but I think I am better than this place.. first paycheque is supposed to be on the 11th, so we'll see if it actually amounts to anything, sure been putting in the hours and trying for the OT, would rather get on with a company like VOICE or URS Flint and just sit in a rock truck all day.
My first 2 week hitch is coming to a close soon, maybe I'll do some hunting on my days off.
(for a new job, lol) -
N2 isn't really a big deal. It's liquid, but due to the long sausage shape side slosh isn't much of an issue. It's cryogenic(obviously) so handling during loading/unloading requires following safe handling rules.(which really is not all that complicated) loading is clean and easy, no dust to breath or really anything in the way of personal hazards if you take your time hooking up the hose and follow procedures
pays pretty good, and generally has opportunity to move into a N2 pumping position, which can pay very wellfreedom4me and oilfield Thank this. -
If you do a run of your income tax through Alberta the Ontario you might find it is more than worth your time to switch. Alberta has some of the lowest income taxes of any province.
Also beware that most employers will use the employee deduction chart for the province your working in, they will withold for Alberta's 10% flat rate not ontario's sliding rate.
A brief look says you will be better under ont, up to the 82k yearly mark. Make sure an accountant does your taxes and runs both scenarios for you to choose from. -
Its, i was referring to British Columbia
